The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT provides training in various areas of technology including networking, security, software development, and open source technologies. It offers core training programs, corporate training customized for organizations, and short intensive vacation courses for university students. Specialized youth programs include training junior high school students as junior programmers. The Centre is also engaged in an ongoing project called GovCAP to build capacity in mobile computing, instructional design, and open source technologies through distance learning. It trains government and public individuals and provides technical support to government agencies. The Centre promotes open source software and is a member of the FOSSFA Council.

training bootcamp for university students in the West African Sub-

6. Ongoing Project- GovCAP
GovCAP is an ongoing ICT capacity building project aimed at improving
training and research using a distance learning platform. We are:
Building capacity in the areas of Mobile Computing, Instructional
Design and Open Source Technologies
Improving training delivery to Industry, MDAs and the General public
Increasing ICT awareness and use among Ghanaians
Training 200 government technical staff and 400 members of the
public with a focus on youth
Giving ICT technical support to MDAs projects
This is being funded by Capacity Development Mechanism (CDM) of
the Ministry of Finance, Ghana.
