1. How to Upgrade GV-ASManager to the Latest Version

It is quiet easy to keep your current database and upgrade it to work with the latest version of
GV-ASManager. Follow the steps below to back up the current database and restore it to the
latest version of GV-ASManager.

Backing up the Current Database
1. Run ASDBManager.exe from the current program folder at :AS200ASManager.
2. Select ASManager Database Setting.

2. 3. Select ASManager Database Backup.
4. Specify a location to save the backup file, and click OK.
5. When the backup is complete, close all open dialog boxes.

3. Installing the Latest Version and Restoring the Previous Database
1. Uninstall the current version of GV-ASManager.
2. Uninstall the current version of the USB Device driver and install the latest version of it.
A. Insert the Software CD to your computer. This window appears. Select Install or
Remove GeoVision GV-Series Driver.
B. Select Install GeoVision USB Device Drivers. Then select Remove.
C. Select Install GeoVision USB Device Drivers and select Install.

4. 3. To install the latest version of GV-ASManager, select Install GeoVision Vxxxx Access
Control System. By default, the installation directory is C:Access Control.
4. Run ASDBManager.exe from the new program folder at :Access ControlASManager.
5. Select ASManager Database Setting.
6. Select Upgrade to latest database version.

5. 7. The GV-ASManager starts upgrading the database. When the upgrade is complete and
the message “Upgrade database successfully” appears, click OK.
8. To restore the previous database, select Recovery Database.

6. 9. Specify the location of the backup database, and click OK.
10. When a warning message of the existence of the new-versioned database appears, select
Yes.

7. 11. The GV-ASManager starts to restore the previous database and convert it to the latest
version.
Note: You may not upgrade the GV-ASManager by using the Software CD, but by using the
upgrade or patch download link provided by GeoVision. In this case, you should locate related
executive programs from folders to start.
1. To uninstall the current version of the USB Device driver and install the new version, run
GvUsb.exe.
2. To install the latest version of GV-ASManager, run setup.exe.
