2. SHOP SALES
• The distribution to make shop sales is where GamesTM magazine
would be sold as hardcopies for people to purchase them in store
with places like WHSmith or Tesco, other places would be at
newsstands, bookstores or even corner shops.
• When magazines are sold in these place they are all made sure that
they all have the price of the magazine written on them so this way to
place selling it is not making any other kind of profit from them.
3. SUBSCRIPTION SALES
• Subscription sales is where a customer subscribes to a
magazine where the person subscribe would get their latest
issue post to them for a certain amount of months.
Subscription sales can now be also done by shops like
WHSmiths where instead of posting the issue to their house
they can do it to a store that sells it where they are secured a
issue.
4. ONLINE DISRIBUTION
• Online distribution is when magazines have been produced digitally
where these copies are then assessable to be purchased off online
stores such as Amazon/Kindle Store, Google Play, iTunes etc. These
are all online services that provide customers with a digital version of
the magazine assessable from devices such as a smartphone or tablet
and of course computers/laptops.
• Online distribution is a method that magazines are using to distribute
as it is easier for customers to purchase and view them straight away
from anywhere and also is cost effective on how they work as this
way they don’t have any wastes of copies that was not brought.
5. Does a subscription give you access to pay-
walled online content
• A pay-wall is when the newspaper/magazine companies will only let
paying subscribers to their content they share providing a service,
companies such as The Sun or The Times, if they don’t pay then they
are restricted.
• This would be when a viewer has accessed the website to view
content but they will be asked to pay blocking the access, this is the
pay wall. When subscribed/paid the website will unblock it’s access
for that person to see the content.
