2. CELADOR FILMS OWNERSHIP
• Celador is a film company owned by Complete
Communications where it was formed in 1983 as a
independent production company.
• Celador then got brought by 2waytraffic being a Dutch
group that was also given the right to Who Wants To
Be A Millionaire? which is one of their most popular
film. Celador films is now a global entertainment
company.
3. OPERATING MODEL
• Celador operates as a more free model production
company that is quite small compared to the others.
• Where funding is from partnerships and other sorts of
sources Celador produce films on a project-to-project
way. This is where they would employee freelance
staff that could be with directors, camera operators or
make up artists.
4. PRODUCTS
• The products Celador offer is films, television shows,
theatre and radio.
• From the start in the late 1980’s they worked on television
producing sitcoms like ‘The Detectives’ where now having
reality shows called ‘You Are What You Eat’.
• The production of films began in 2002 for Celador making
box office successful films such as ‘The Descent’, ‘Slumdog
Millionaire and ‘Dirty Pretty Things’.
5. MARKET POSITION & COMPETITORS
• Celador are not that high up in the marketing position compared to
the other huge film companies as they are a small production
company having only released 7 films over the last 10 years.
Regardless of the amount of films they have made they are able to
say they have ran a very successful British independent film company.
• For Celador competitors they have Film 4 Productions running against
them having the upper hand of making many more films than
Celador. Celador wouldn’t really be comparing themselves to huge
companies such as Sony Pictures Entertainment as they work on
massive scale with much bigger budgets producing films like Django.
