Movement is one of the five themes of geography
and investigates why ideas, good and people
migrate. Lee (1966) pp. 49-50 states, ‘The factors
which enter into the decision to migrate and the
process of migration may be summarized under
four headings, as follows: 1 factors associated
with the area of origin, 2 factors associated with
the area of destination, 3 intervening obstacles,
and 4 personal obstacles.’
