2. Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, Lakewood Land
Company is a proud supporter of its community. One of
the many charitable entities to which Lakewood Land
Company contributes is Horse Haven of Tennessee
(HHT). A non-profit rescue center for abused and
neglected equines, HHT was founded in 1999 and has
since provided shelter, care, rehabilitation, and adoption
for more than 600 horses. HHT specializes in equines
that have been confiscated or removed from neglectful
or cruel situations throughout Tennessee.
3. A variety of educational and volunteer programs are
available at HHT. The Helping Hoof Program is
designed to help horse owners who have fallen on
difficult times. It provides temporary financial assistance
to feed and shelter animals and assists owners in
finding replacement homes for their horses. On the
second Saturday of every month, HHT hosts the Neigh
& Bray Adoption Day and Open House, where the
public is welcome to view the facility and meet horses
for potential adoption.
