5. Lessons Learnt
The selection of the venue was a successful one. The NTC auditorium is well
prepared with a control room for lighting effects , projection and translation
headsets and equipment .It can easily accommodate about 250 viewers.
A lounge ready to accommodate our breaks , with nice scene over Nile and plenty
of space for socializing in breaks.
The attendees were no more than 60 viewers of the event , I think that this is due to
the fact that the 13th of July was on a Wednesday , which is a working day
.Nevertheless the attendees are those who defied all odds to attend .
We gained though attendees, who showed their great interest in being part of
TEDxKhartoum team and offered to be part of TED.
This mainly had to do with the way in which the invitations were distributed , much
caution was taken , so we didn’t give our self the benefit to invite more freely.
On the other hand those invited and attending were of well representation of the
society.
6. Lessons Learnt
The translation team was not prepared in an appropriate time .And the setting of
the technical aspects was not perfect. This led to irregular efforts in translating the
talks, the audience did not benefit much from the availability of the translation
equipment and volunteers.
The breaks could have had some discussions of the talks or some other
entertainment intervals ,especially the very long breaks, which were not prepared
for in time.
In a whole I regard the Event a very successful one, but there is always enough
room for more perfection.
