1.0     PROJECT BACKGROUND




2.0     SCOPE OF WORKS

The components in this flood mitigation project comprise of two (2) interrelated flood diversion
schemes :

        i)      New diversion channel to divert Sg. Keroh flood flow to Jinjang Detention Ponds.
        ii)     Upgrading Gombak Diversion to allow more discharge diversion from Sg. Gombak to the
                enlarged Batu Detention Pond.
        iii)    Benteng and Puah conceptional detail design.
2.1   GOMBAK DIVERSION’S WORK
Upgrading of the existing Gombak Diversion system:

      i.    Gombak Diversion (3.375 km)
      ii.   Gombak barrage at Gombak River downstream of Gombak Diversion
      iii.  Low overflow weir from Gombak River to Gombak Diversion
      iv.   Inlet gate to Gombak Diversion
      v.    Gombak Diversion outfall structure
      vi.   Ogee weir from regulating pond to Batu Pond
      vii.  Enlargement of Batu Pond capacity to 4.5 million cubic meter
      viii. Control gate for Batu Pond outlet to Batu River
      ix.   Flood walls along Gombak River
2.2   KEROH DIVERSION’S WORK
i.    New diversion scheme from Sungai Keroh to Jinjang Ponds (2.2 km)
         ii.   Keroh barrage at downstream of Seri Segambut Pond
         iii.  Low overflow weir from Keroh river to Seri Segambut Pond
         iv.   Inlet gate to Keroh Diversion
         v.    Keroh Diversion outfall
         vi.   Enlargement of Nanyang pond, Taman Wahyu and Delima Pond capacity to 2.5 million
               cubic meter
         vii.  Control gate at Nanyang Pond outlet
         viii. Deepening of the channel connecting Nanyang and Taman Wahyu Pond
         ix.   Control gate at Taman Wahyu and Delima Pond outlet
         x.    Flood walls along Keroh River
