• The Ebre River is the largest river of
the Península Ibèrica. That river spills
into the Mediterranean. It borns on the
southern slope of the Serralada
Cantàbrica. Its length of 910 km and
83,093 km ²
4. How is the weather like?
• The climate of Delta de l’Ebre is
Mediterranean. The humidity is high
and rainfall scarce.
5. How is the vegetation?
• The lands of the delta have a
significant salinity gradient ranging
from salty soils to fertile land suitable
for growing considerably and that
there a variety of different plants of
great interest.
6. About the gaps...
• All gaps in Delta de l’Ebre have a belt
around helofítica characteristic
vegetation, consisting mainly of reeds
and reed beds.
7. About the wildlife...
• The humidity of the Delta de l’Ebre is
of international importance for eight
plant species and 69 vertebrate
animals. The most are birds.
8. About the life...
• Delta de l’Ebre covers 320 km ²: 20% of
which are natural, 75% is arable and
other cities. There are 50,000 people.
• They practiced agriculture (irrigated
crops, fruit trees, rice), fishing,
aquaculture and tourism. Rice fields
cover about 21,000 hectares. It also
has an important fishing.
