17. • Prelude will be located 475 km north-
northeast of Broome, and over 200 km
from the nearest point on the coast.
• Located in 250m-deep water, it is in
the Indian Ocean in the eastern part of
the Browse Basin.
• It will be the first development to use
Shell’s Floating LNG (FLNG)
Technology.
• The FLNG facility is being constructed
in Geoje, Korea and will be towed to the
location.
• Once operating, the Prelude Project is
expected to produce at least 3.6million
tonnes per annum of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of
Condensate and 0.4 of LPG for about
25 years.
• Final investment decision taken by
Shell Board in May 2011
