- 4. Where can you get the access (registration) code? If you purchased the book from Oakton’s bookstore, it comes with an access code for McGraw-Hill’s Connect website Do NOT lose the code You must have your own code If you don’t buy your book at Oakton’s bookstore, you can still buy access to Connect
- 5. Why do you need an access (registration) code? Without the code, you will not be able to use McGraw-Hill’s connect site Assignments Learning activities

Registering your code If you bought your book in the bookstore, it came with the code If you did not purchase a code with your book, you can purchase one by following the registration procedure Go to http://connect.mcgraw-hill.com/class/l_saret_section_1 Web addresses cannot contain spaces. Use lowercase letters or numbers or special characters ( '-' and '_' ) only

- Welcome to Business 101. I am Laura Saret, your instructor for the course. In order to get started with the course, you must purchase a book and access code. In addition, you will need to register the code.
- We are using the 9th edition of Understanding Business by Nickels, McHugh, and McHugh.Since we will be using publisher materials for the course, you are also required to have an access (or registration) code for the book.
- In order to keep costs down, we ordered a custom edition of the book, which is available at either campus or onlineatwww.oakton.bkstr.com or www.oaktonhc.bkstr.com.Of course, you can also buy the book from another source.
- Each student must have his or her own code.If you buy the book from Oakton’s bookstore or from Oakton’s bookstore website, your book will come with a code. Do not lose the code until your register it. If you do not buy your book through Oakton, you can buy a code without purchasing the book.
- So, what’s the big deal about the code?Some of your assignments and learning activities will make use of McGraw-Hill materials on connect. Without the code, you cannot do the assignments or learning activities and will earn 0 points for them.
- Regardless of whether you purchased the code with your book or plan to purchase a code while you are registering it, you should go to http://connect.mcgraw-hill.com/class/l_saret_section_1If you are typing the code, remember no spaces and use lowercase letters
- If you have done this correctly, you will see the connect page shown on your screen. Make sure that it is for BUS 101 Fall 2010 online.You can click on the Register now button and go through the registration process OrYou can watch a video for help. After watching the video click on Register Now to register the code that came with your book or the one you will purchase.
- Your book comes with Connect Plus. If you are purchasing a code, I recommend also purchasing Connect Plus since it comes with an electronic version of your book.
