3. Background text
• The old hall asylum built 1901 took the most notorious
patients in Coventry home to the mentally ill.
• Ward three was the most secure unit and home to Janvier
Youlex in 1920, sectioned for believing he was the joker’s
son and carrying out a massacre in his legacy.
• In 1935 he died and years later the building still stands with
its land however boarded up and abandoned. There have
been many sightings over the last few years of ‘a man with
make up’ appearing on the sight.
• In 2003 teenagers visit the old hall to film for their
paranormal blog as it has recently been named the ‘most
haunted sight in British history’.
• Their footage has never been found until now …
