She was sold from her family …
as a slave

7. Big Mama
Made ‘Show Way” quilts
helping slaves find freedom

8. Those quilts were very special,
leading slaves to freedom

9. Underground railroad….

10. One generation after the next
continued with the ‘Show Way”

11. Soonie was born and her mom said,
“There’s a road, girl. There’s a road …”

12. The slaves were freed
Still they worked very hard

13. Soonie sewed the quilts
selling them for money
and started her own family …
…..

14. There was still a road yet to go …

15. Caroline & Ann had ‘Show Way’ patches
pinned inside their dresses that helped them
be less scared with their road
