What kind of media institution might
distribute your media product and why?

2. •When I done my music magazine research, the
double page spread I analysed was a spread
from Mixmag.
•The publisher for Mixmag was Development
Hell Ltd. They currently publish two monthly
magazines, The Word and Mixmag and their
accompanying websites.

3. •I feel that Development Hell Ltd would be a
good institution to distribute my product as
they don't publish any magazines like the one
that I have made.
•The Word and Mixmag are two completely
different magazines and have different styles
and content but are still music based just like
my product.

4. •They would distribute my product because
again its different and they don't publish
anything like it so it would be a new product
that a lot of people would be interested in as
its not at all similar to the other magazines
that they publish.

5. • My product is based on one type music genre (indie)
where as for example, Mixmag is a dance magazine
that covers dance events, reviews, music and club
nights. This again could be why they might distribute
my product as its based on a different music genre
that is quite popular and not many companies
distribute products based around one music genre so
this would mean less competition which in the end is
a good thing. Although guaranteeing popularity for
my product may not be the actual result.
• Also the style of my product, the target audience and
the sort of people who would read my product is
again different to Mixmag and The Word.

6. •My product appeals to a certain younger
age, whereas The Word and Mixmag are aimed
at slightly older people as for example Mixmag
is for clubbers which you can do at the age of
21+. So this will bring a different variety of
readers which means more business for
Development Hell Ltd.

7. •If they distribute my product not only will it be
sold in shops but will also be on the
internet(its official website) as most things are
today, so this could make it more popular as if
its on the internet people can read or look at it
through there. This could also again widen the
audience because being on the internet could
be more convenient and useful for some
people.
