1. My name is Sameal. I am 5 years old. Before the earthquake I lived in my uncle’s house with 11 other people in my family. During the earthquake my house fell down. I was trapped inside, but my uncle finally found me. Now we are looking for others in my family. I really miss my cousin, Jovany, who is 5 like me.<br />My name is Tessa. I am 22 years old, and I have a little baby girl named Ayida (it means “spirit of love”). Right now Ayida and I are without our family. We are sleeping on the ground every night, with some plastic over our heads. Ayida is ok, but yesterday she started to have a very runny nose, and I am worried about her.<br />I am Jean. I am 10 years old. I am trying to take care of my little brother, Joe. Joe is only 2, and needs help with so many things. Our parents did not survive in the earthquake, so I am thinking that Joe and I might be going to live with another family. I do not know if this family will live in the U.S., or somewhere else. I do not know what will happen to us.<br />My name is Jean. I came to the United States when I was 13 because my mom wanted me to go to school. My older brothers and sisters didn’t go, so when I had the chance to live with my aunt my mother sent me here. Many hours later we found my father. He was covered in dust. I am living in a tent with sixteen people. Since the quake I have been drawing, writing, and sleeping.
