1. How do we collaborate successfully
when learning online?
With thanks and acknowledgement to the
Acando presentation in OpenEd 2.0 Module 1
Thoughts by Lesley Boyd
2. • One way to categorise is based on the tools themselves
3. • Another way to categorise is based on what they do for us?
4. What is Web 2.0 anyway?
Read-write instead of read only
Re-usable, remixable
Simple and social
........so email, static websites - even discussion forums - are only one way
5. When you have read-write, you have collective intelligence!
Although, I believe you can achieve much collective intelligence from
discussion forums.........
6.
7. We collaborate when we go beyond one way
communication, beyond one way interaction, and work
together on a goal. Collaboration always has a specific
purpose.
8.
9. Collaboration means all coming together to drive a
consensus. Each person has a contribution to make and
a perspective to contribute. In a collaborative
culture, we’re not scared of making mistakes. We give it
a go on a trial and error basis and figure it out together.
11. It takes time to move from Me 1.0 to Me 2.0 !!!
There is a lot of learning and experimenting involved.
12. Challenges for collaborative learning using Web 2.0?
I believe that the challenges listed above for enterprises and
businesses are pretty much the same when trying to encourage
collaboration in online learning.
