2. Many children in Russia start nursery school at
the age of 6 or 7. They spend 4 years in primary
school. Children study different subjects. After
the lessons some children stay at school and do
homework with their teachers because their
parents are at work.

3. We live in Polyarnie
Zory, Murmansk Region.
We study at school №4.
Our school starts at
8.30. We usually have 4-
5 lessons a day. We have
a break at 10.10. We
always have lunch at the
school canteen.

4. We have PE lessons in the swimming pool. Our
swimming pool is not very big, but it has got 2 swimming-
baths: big and small.

5. Our school has got classrooms, 2 gyms, 2
computer rooms, a library, a canteen,
a medical room.

6. We study 10 subjects. They are Russian, Literature, Maths,
English, History, PE, Art, Music, Nature Study, Handicraft. We like
Russian, History, Literature, and PE, but our favourite is English. We
usually read and write, tell poems by heart, tell dialogues and
monologues, sing songs in the English lessons.

7. We often take part in the English competitions and get
diplomas and prizes.

8. School objects
We use
different school
objects in our
lessons. In English
lessons we need
pens, pencils,
crayons, erasers,
pencil sharpeners,
student’s books,
workbooks,
dictionaries.

9. Our school parties.
We often have school parties. We sing, dance, play, have
tea with sweets and cakes together.

10. After school we go skiing, dancing, singing, playing musical
instruments or playing sports.
