   • Retrieving and sorting mail
   • Placing security strips into books
   • Transferring newspaper articles into digital format
   Benefits of position: I thoroughly enjoyed working in this learning environment, which helped me make the decision to pursue a
   media specialist’s degree.

        Responsible for:
    • Maintaining a learning environment to house all JCCHS’s online students.
    • Keeping students on pace; monitoring grades
    • Helping with understanding and tutoring in a variety of subject areas
    • Teaching research skills and ethical use of information and safe online communication through email and chat
    Benefits of position: Since I worked with students in every curricular area, I am in constant communication with at least one
    faculty member in every department. This helps me to bridge the gap between being a paraprofessional and working with
    teachers. I have experience with many different types of students and curriculum.

    learned that I definitely have a passion for meeting the needs of both teachers and students, which makes a media specialist career
    perfect for me.

    Assistant to the Assistant Principal of Instruction
        Responsible for:
    • Helping with all state mandated test administrations
    • Helping locate withdrawn students in order to maintain current cumulative records
    Benefits of position: I have gotten to work closely with one of the Assistant Principals. This has been a very rewarding position.
    She has been able to teach me a lot about running tests such as the GHGST and others.

North Georgia College and State University 2004 – 2006 Librarian Assistant Responsible for: • Shelving books • Retrieving and sorting mail • Placing security strips into books • Transferring newspaper articles into digital format Benefits of position: I thoroughly enjoyed working in this learning environment, which helped me make the decision to pursue a media specialist’s degree. Jackson County School District; Jefferson, Georgia 2007 – Present Learning Lab Facilitator Responsible for: • Maintaining a learning environment to house all JCCHS’s online students. • Keeping students on pace; monitoring grades • Helping with understanding and tutoring in a variety of subject areas • Teaching research skills and ethical use of information and safe online communication through email and chat Benefits of position: Since I worked with students in every curricular area, I am in constant communication with at least one faculty member in every department. This helps me to bridge the gap between being a paraprofessional and working with teachers. I have experience with many different types of students and curriculum. Jackson County School District; Jefferson, Georgia 2010 – Present Media Center Paraprofessional Responsible for: • All aspects of creating and maintaining a welcoming and effective media center Benefits of position: I was able to put into practice everything I have learned during my master’s degree program. In addition, I learned that I definitely have a passion for meeting the needs of both teachers and students, which makes a media specialist career perfect for me. Jackson County School District; Jefferson, Georgia 2010 – Present Assistant to the Assistant Principal of Instruction Responsible for: • Helping with all state mandated test administrations • Helping locate withdrawn students in order to maintain current cumulative records Benefits of position: I have gotten to work closely with one of the Assistant Principals. This has been a very rewarding position. She has been able to teach me a lot about running tests such as the GHGST and others.
