MISSION STATEMENT

 The mission of KOBS is to provide
    families, villages, communities in South
Sudan with much needed transportation to
improve their standard of living and overall
    vitality.
BUSINESS GOALS

 To significantly reduce lack of education
because of lack of transportation and increase
amount of students in schools and instill a
  sense of accountability for producing
environments that reflect who they want to
  become.
 To reduce maternal mortality rate in South
  Sudan
 To reduce water-related diseases in South
  Sudan
 To reduce infant mortality
FACTS AND FIGURES

 According to the UN Population Fund
(UNFPA), less than a quarter (24%) of people in
South Sudan are literate. Only 12% of women
are literate compared with 37% of men. This is
considerably worse than in the north, where
71% of men and 52% of women are literate.
 The highest maternal mortality in the world
(2,054 maternal deaths for every 10,000 live
  births)
 Most Sudanese live on less than 1 USD a day
HISTORY OF BUSINESS

 Multiple companies such as, World Bike
Relief, Pedals for Progress, Wheels 4
Life, Working Bikes Co-op, Pastors for
    Peace, Bikes-Not-Bombs and other major
businesses have used the concept of
accepting bike donations of all sorts, from all
around the country (mostly only in bulk due
    to shipping costs).
CUSTOMERS
 My company will help the people of
  rural, under-developed South Sudan for
whom transportation is rare and if instated
would enhance their quality of life. Local
American parents who want their children to
learn how to repair their own
bicycles, adults, and young adults with
  purchase out product.
 My customers will range in age and will most
  probably have a disposable income.
PRODUCTS SERVICES (COURSE)

stems need for money to fund the
                                     enterprise. I do not want
 Bike seats this enterprise to be solely
 Sell baskets (One for One charity (giving of bikes)

 Selling helmets (One for size of bikes. Money is
One): This helmet buys [ x needed to buy new bikes
amount of helmets] for and pay for shipping &

COURSE DESCRIPTION
 This course is comprised of multiple
classes designed for people ages 12+.
The proceeds from the course will be
used to purchase new bikes and
    repair/refurbish old bikes. People who
are part of the course will be learning
how to repair bikes using bikes that will
be sent off to South Sudan. Their final
project will be to repair a bike relying
solely on the knowledge they have
    acquired during the course. These
bikes will also be sent off to South
Sudan. Therefore, the students will be
    directly affecting change. This
business will eventually want to grow
to plan service trips for students who
are interested in giving the bicycles
    they fixed in person.
ORGANIZATION

                Domestique

                 Climber

               Fast-Finisher

                 Stagiaire
MARKETING
 Customer
 I am selling to customers inside the US. These customers will probably be
mostly cyclists. The consumers who will benefit from the courses will range
       in age.
    Distribution
 My products will be distributed online and in-store at the same location the
courses will be held. I hope that eventually, my product will expand to be in
stores around the country and world, and worn by cyclist.
 I will inform my market on major social networking website such as
Hulu, YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, hi5, Skyrock, Friendster, myspace, Tumblr,
StumbleUpon, eBay, Google and Twitter. Also on cycling-enthusiast threads.
In addition, once the company grows, having commercials and major cyclists
endorse KOBS. Having fundraisers at local schools. The grand prizes being
a free course at the KOBS workshop would also be a great way to spread
       the word and increase revenue.
SUSTAINABILITY
 Start-up Costs
 My estimated start-up costs for advertising:
 $1,500 for 30 days of advertisement on Facebook +
      $0.95 per click
     Tools and workstations: $300
     Space for workshop: $0
 Business license and permit for non-profit organization in
      State of Missouri: $400
     Bike (10) Shipment: $1,250
 Donors will bring $10 per bike to offset cost of shipping
My business will become sustainable via repair
courses, merchandise, fundraisers, donations, and possible
    endorsement ventures.
SCALABILITY
 We will expand courses to include online courses and
DVDs. The business will also become larger via
endorsements and advertisement on major and local
bike races. KOBS will expand to partner with Jodie
Wu's Global Cycle Solutions to tailor attachments that
will be useful to inhabitants of South Sudan.
 Five-years from now…
 In five years, KOBS expects to have a functioning facility
for which to hold courses and workshops, receive
bicycles and products, and for the fast-finisher to have all
the necessary communicative tools. KOBS will already
have made at least 3 trips to South Sudan to personally
        drop off the bicycles.
FINANCING
 Sources of Capital
     Bank loans
 UNECA (United Nations Economic Commission
      for Africa)
     USAID
     World Bank
     Global Environment Facility
Over time, to become a completely self-
    sufficient, independent, non-profit
    organization, KOBS will need approximately
WHAT SETS KOBS APART?

 KOBS sends a message to the youth
instilling in them the beginnings of
entrepreneurs who are cognizant of their

 KOBS will not be dependent on donations
  only.

transportation on everyone in the world
 KOBS will be at the forefront of helping a
