The little red hen worked hard to earn money to buy a loaf of bread from the bakery across the river. When she got to the river bank, she realized she didn't have money for transportation. All the neighbors refused to help her cross, making excuses. Disheartened, she cried by the river. A tiny mouse offered to help with his boat. They crossed and got the bread. On the way back, the neighbors smelled the bread and asked for some, but the little red hen shared only with the mouse who helped her.
2. One
day,
in
a
small
valley,
lived
a
li(le
red
hen.
The
li(le
red
hen
had
a
craving
for
a
loaf
of
bread
from
the
bakery
across
the
river.
Alas,
she
had
no
money
so
she
got
a
job
bagging
groceries.
3.
A=er
a
couple
of
days,
she
got
enough
money
to
pay
for
a
loaf
of
bread
so
she
quit
her
job.
When
she
got
to
the
river
bank,
she
realized
she
forgot
to
get
money
for
transportaCon
across
the
river.
She
thought
she
would
look
like
a
fool
to
beg
for
her
job
back
so
she
went
to
the
neighbors
to
ask
for
help.
She
asked
Eagle,
“Will
you
help
me
get
across
the
river?”
4. “
Maybe
another
Cme,
I
got
the
kids
to
take
care
of,”
replied
Eagle.
She
asked
Duck,
“
Will
you
help
me
get
across
the
river?”
“
Not
this
Cme.”
quacked
Duck.
“I’m
being
expected
at
a
party.”
5. As
she
went
neighbor
to
neighbor,
they
all
had
different
excuses
.
A=er
the
seventh
and
final
neighbor,
she
gave
up.
She
sat
down
by
the
river
and
cried
,
”
I
will
never
get
that
loaf
of
bread!”
Then
she
Heard
a
small
voice
behind
her
say,
“
I
can
help
you.”
She
turned
around
and
saw
a
Cny
mouse.
6. “
I
have
a
boat.”
he
said
She
got
on
the
boat
and
got
her
loaf
of
bread.
On
her
way
back
all
the
neighbors
came
out
of
their
houses
at
the
scent
of
the
bread.
When
she
got
on
shore
they
all
asked
if
they
could
have
some.
“
I
thought
you
had
something
to
do.”
she
replied
“
We
finished.”
they
all
said
hopefully
“
Well,
I
only
have
enough
for
two
and
I
think
I’ll
share
it
with
Mouse.”
she
said
with
a
smirk
All
the
neighbors
watched
The

Red
Hen
and
