7. Jefferson Memorial The Jefferson Memorial was built in honor of the man who wrote the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson was our third president. A large statue of Jefferson is part of this memorial.
8. Lincoln Memorial The Lincoln Memorial was built in honor of President ______________. He was president during our Civil War, and helped free African Americans from slavery. A large statue of Lincoln looks over the Reflecting Pool.
9. Vietnam Veterans Memorial The names of all American military personnel who died in the Vietnam War are on these walls. People leave flowers and notes to help remember those killed in the war.
