Definition:
       This implies that for learning
  to take place, the student must be
  focus or engaged directly with the
  activity or task where he may
  draw      knowledge,     concepts,
  principles, attitudes, skills or
  habits.
Views:
This is in consonance with the principle of
self-activity by Froebel which states that
learning is the result of the activity of the
child himself.
The student should take an active role in
the search of knowledge. She should not be
made to watch or to observe what is
happening. He should contribute his ideas
or concepts to solve issues.
In the same manner as when the
student wants to learn to work on
the computer, he should actually
have hands on activity in its
operations.
One cannot learn to solve
mathematical problems unless he
tries to undergo the process by
himself.
With       educational       technology,
students can be given various
materials from realia       to contrived
experiences;     from      pictures    to
worksheets; projectors and computers
and software to keep them engage and
active in the quest for knowledge.
The various modalities for learning
can be utilized at the same time with
concrete experiences provided by the
various media of instruction.
Other views:

Students are involved in more
than listening.
Less emphasis is place in
transmitting information and more
on developing student’s skills.
Students are involved in higher-
order thinking (analysis, synthesis,
evaluation).
Students are engaged in activities
ex. Reading, discussing, writing
Teachers place greater emphasis
on students exploration of their own
attitudes and values.

Active involvement key to student learning

  • 1. PRINCIPLE OF ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT Group 1 Abellano, Jeraldyn Leron, Gernaden Rojas, Roberose Subang, Archie
  • 2. Definition: This implies that for learning to take place, the student must be focus or engaged directly with the activity or task where he may draw knowledge, concepts, principles, attitudes, skills or habits.
  • 3. Views: This is in consonance with the principle of self-activity by Froebel which states that learning is the result of the activity of the child himself. The student should take an active role in the search of knowledge. She should not be made to watch or to observe what is happening. He should contribute his ideas or concepts to solve issues.
  • 4. In the same manner as when the student wants to learn to work on the computer, he should actually have hands on activity in its operations. One cannot learn to solve mathematical problems unless he tries to undergo the process by himself.
  • 5. With educational technology, students can be given various materials from realia to contrived experiences; from pictures to worksheets; projectors and computers and software to keep them engage and active in the quest for knowledge. The various modalities for learning can be utilized at the same time with concrete experiences provided by the various media of instruction.
  • 6. Other views: Students are involved in more than listening. Less emphasis is place in transmitting information and more on developing student’s skills.
  • 7. Students are involved in higher- order thinking (analysis, synthesis, evaluation). Students are engaged in activities ex. Reading, discussing, writing Teachers place greater emphasis on students exploration of their own attitudes and values.
