After logging in Moodle, your name displays at the top right corner of the screen.

To edit your profile, click on your name.

In the profile page, the basic information such as your country and city/town are given as Hong Kong by default.

Click the Edit profile to edit your profile.

On the Edit profile page, you can see your Surname, First name and email address.
These information cannot be changed.

You can choose who see your email address by clicking on Email display to open the pull-down menu.

If you decide not to release your email to anyone, select Hide my email address from everyone

On the contrarily, if you want to display your email address to everyone,
select Allow everyone to see my email address.

If only your teacher(s), classmate(s) or your students, co-teacher(s), if any, are allowed to see your email address, click
Allow only other course members to see my email address.

Make sure your email is enabled in the Email activated field,
otherwise you will not be able to receive any emails from your instructor(s), students, classmates or system administrator.

You can select your Preferred language, e.g. English, Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese from the pull-down menu.

However, if your instructor has already set the preferred language for the course, your setting will not be effective.

You must enter something for your profile, e.g., your contact information or a welcome message, etc.

You can upload a picture to your profile. The picture can be viewed by other users in the discussion forum.
Your default portrait is a smiling face.

choose your image file, e.g., jpeg or png format, then click on Open.
