After logging in to Moodle, click on the course into which you want to embed a video.
In this case, click on Demo Course.

Click on the Turn editing on button to turn on the editing mode.

In Moodle, teachers can add various kinds of resources as learning materials to a course.
For example, they can upload a file, input text online or embed a video into a course.

Choose a topic into which you want to embed a video, say Topic 1 in this case.

Click on Add a resource to open the pull-down menu, then select Insert a label.

You must provide a title or brief description for the video, say “This video is from YouTube.”

Then click on the Toggle HTML Source <> button to activate the Text Mode to input the embedded code.

You will have to copy the embedded code of your YouTube video and paste it into the Label text field (the area
highlighted with the red frame). The following slides show you how to copy an embedded code from YouTube.

Go to YouTube and choose a video that you want to use in Moodle. Click on the Share button below the video.

Click on the Embed button.

Then you will see the embedded code of the video. Now move your cursor over the highlighted code.

Right-click with your mouse, then select Copy.

Go back to Moodle, then paste the embedded code below the text you typed in earlier.
You can also embed videos from sources other than YouTube so long as you are able to retrieve the embedded codes of the videos.

After you have finished, click on the Save and return to course button.

The video is now embedded into Demo Course under Topic 1.

Now click on the Turn editing off button to leave the editing mode.
