9. Luís Lavado Rope access uses ropes as the primary means of supporting workers. The support of the rope eliminates the likelihood of a fall, and a back-up fall protection system is employed in the unlikely failure of the primary means of support. This redundant system is achieved by using two ropes - a working line and a safety line.
