2. What gender are you?
We wanted to
make the results
fair with gender,
so asked 5
Male
females and 5 Female
males as there is
no specific
gender that our
film is aimed at.

5. What makes you want to go and watch
a film? (rank your answers – 1 being the most important, 6 being the least important)
Word of mouth 2 5 4 4 1 2 2 1 2 4
Trailer 5 1 1 1 3 1 1 3 1 1
Adverts including posters 4 2 5 3 2 6 5 6 4 3
Reviews 1 6 6 6 6 4 6 2 5 6
Actors 3 4 2 2 4 3 3 4 3 2
Hype on the internet 6 3 3 5 5 5 4 5 6 5
We wanted to gain feedback on which way was the most important aspect of a films
advertising campaign. People mostly picked the trailer as their option, which is very
helpful as this our main form of advertising for our film. We also found that word of
mouth was the most popular second choice, which in unfortunate because our other
forms of advertising is a magazine front cover and a film poster. The third most popular
choice was the actors and actresses, which also is unfortunate because with our small
budget we can’t afford big Hollywood stars. Forth was adverts including posters. Fifth
was hype on the internet which is surprising, especially with our target audience as they
are primary uses of the internet. This could be because how much internet advertising
there is, so users become desensitized to all the hype. The least most popular was
reviews, clearly showing our target audiences preferences not to read boring reviews.
6.
7. Do you think there should be music in
the background of the trailer?
All of our target
audience said
yes, proving that
we were right to
make music one Yes
No
of the most
atmospheric
elements of the
film.
