Districts changing from ½ day to full-day are changing
from 2.5 – 3 hours to 6 hours. Orange has a 5-hour day.
K Success: 85% met or exceeded Level 4 reading
benchmark; 91% met or exceeded STAR Early Literacy
K-level expectation; 97% met the Math Expressions
grade-level benchmark
Survey: 499 respondents… 61% favored; 39% did not.

13. Optimum.net Email Issue
Without getting too technical …
• Optimum hires an outside company, Sorbs, to filter its
spam.
• Optimum was not very concerned -- Matt researched
• Naugatuck Public Schools got their public IP address
blacklisted by a Sorbs spam database.
• We were on the same network subnet as Naugatuck
through CEN
• MATT got Naugatuck off… that, got us off! Took lots of
research and many days of work.

14. PowerSchool Announcement

• Kids need to memorize the music!
