Battery-Free Multichannel Digital ECG
Biotelemetry using UHF RFID Techniques
Abstract
This work presents a novel easy-to-use system intended for the fast and noninvasive
monitoring of the Lead I electrocardiogram (ECG) signal by using a wireless ZigBee Module.
The system uses a dual ground electrode configuration connected to a low-power analog frontend to reduce 50/60Hz interference.

A novel heart rate detection algorithm based on the

continuous wavelet transform has been implemented, which is specially designed to be robust
against the most common sources of noise and interference present when acquiring the ECG in
the hands. The heart beat level also detected here using Heart beat sensor. The algorithm shows
acceptable performance even under non-ordinary high levels of tested in normal use with
subjects of different age, gender, and physical condition.

Existing System:
In this existing system, there is device to monitor the Heart beat level and ECG level of a
person in hospitals using RFID but its range is very less so, we go to our proposed system.

Drawback of RFID (Existing System)
1. Very Less Range
2. Limited Features (Only ECG monitoring)
3. Costly UHF RFID Modules.
4. Complex System.

Proposed System:
In this project, we are going to monitor the heat beat and ECG level of a person above the
age of 45. The full model of our system is placed in a this kit. The heart beat sensor is clipped in
the finger of the person. The ECG Sensor is also fixed in the fore arms or wrist of that person.
The status of the sensor’s which placed in the person’s body will transmit the value to the PC
section through Zigbee transceiver. The PC section would receive the value and update the status
in the PC which connected with Internet. The sensor will produce the Analog value will be
converted to digital signals through ADC circuit.

Advantage of Proposed System
1. Long Coverage Range
2. Multiple Features (ECG monitoring + Heart Beat Monitoring)
3. Affordable by patients and hospitals.
4. High Reliability.
