 Donald Harvey was born in Ohio 1952
 Happy child
 Very sociable and well-liked by other kids
 No indication of abnormality
 Described by classmates as loner and teacher’s pet
 from age four and for some years after, Harvey was said
to be sexually abused by his uncle and a male
  neighbor.
 Dropped out of high school
 For unknown reasons he relocated and worked at a
  factory until fired
 Went to Kentucky to visit ailing grandfather
 Nuns gave him a job at Marymount Hospital
 Charged for burglary and paid fine
 Joined the United States Air Force served for less than
 a year before general discharge
 Worked at Cardinal Hill Convalescent Hospital, Morgue
Job at the V.A. Hospital , and lastly Cincinnati Drake
 Memorial Hospital
 Harvey had a male lover then Harvey had killed him
for suspecting that he was cheating on Harvey
 He was paranoid
 Also killed the first victim out of anger
 Afterwards he killed because it gave him a thrill
 Also believed that he was able to control other people’s
lives to decide if they had lived or died because he had
  the power to control
 Thought that it was his right to choose if these people
lived or died so he played God with them
 Pulled the plug on some victims, beat with bed pans
 added arsenic and cyanide to orange juice
 injected cyanide into an intravenous tube
 injected cyanide into a patient's buttocks
 Used plastic bag and wet towel over the mouth and nose to
  suffocate victim
 sprinkled rat poison in a patient's dessert
 Disconnected oxygen tanks
 Used a wire hanger which he, inserted in a
  patients catheter
 Hospital Patients
 In April 1997, after the death of John Powell (Harvey’s last
victim), Powell had been in a comatose for several months, but
he had started to recover. So when his unexpected death came
an autopsy was given. Within the autopsy the coroner had
noticed the smell of cyanide. Authorities were then notified and
checked if any friends or family may have done this in order to
gain something which none had, so the authorities checked who
all had access to the room that was Hospital staff. When they
checked the short list and they learned of Harvey's nickname
"Angel of Death," they began to focus their investigation on
  Harvey.
 Which with the warrant the authorities had they looked in
Harvey’s apartment and found a lot of incriminating evidence
like jars of cyanide and arsenic, books on the occult and
poisons, and a detailed description of the murders he had
  committed in Harvey’s diary.
 Donald Harvey on the 18th of August 1987 had pled guilty to
24 counts of aggravated murder, four counts of attempted
    murder, and one felonious assault.
 Then four days later he had a 25th guilty plea
 On September 7, 1987 charged with committing 12 murders
at Marymount Hospital pleaded guilty and added 8 life
    terms plus 20 years
 February 1988 more guilty pleas of three additional
homicides and attempted murders giving him 3 terms of
    seven to 25 years
 This gave Harvey a sentence of 28 consecutive life
sentences and was fined $270,000 for claiming to kill 87
people but the authorities believe he only killed 37-57
    people.
 Serial Killers watch others actions and follow them in
order to blend in and manipulate people right into
  their trap.
 They are like actors only doing what looks normal to
others but really they are psychopaths
 They like the position of authority
 Characteristics of Organized Crime Scenes

  1. Planned offense
  2. Transports body
  3. Body hidden
  4. Controlled conversation
  5. Demands submissive victim
  6. Missing weapon or evidence
  7. Victim is a targeted stranger
  8. Personalizes victim
  9. Crime scene reflects control
  10. Restraints used
  11. Aggressive acts done before death
 Characteristics of Disorganized Crime Scenes

  1. Body left at death scene
  2. Spontaneous offense
  3. Evidence or weapon present at scene
  4. Victim or location known
  5. Body left in view
  6. Depersonalizes victim
  7. Sexual acts after death
  8. Minimal conversation
  9. Minimal use of restraints
  10. Crime scene sloppy
  11. Sudden violence to victim
 Mixed Crime Scene
Shows characteristics from both the organized and
disorganized crime scenes. This can indicate that there was
two offenders, or that the offender had planned the crime
and was interrupted while committing the crime or the
offender had staged the whole scene of the crime.

 Atypical Crime Scene Crime
Scene can not be classified by the given data.
Decomposed remains fall under this type of crime scene.
The police or profilers will most likely have to take other
things into consideration while at these crime scenes
because of the given data. Also they may look into previous
crime scenes to see if they can find a match.
 How the Serial Killers just act as though they are a
normal people in society but in reality they are
  psychopaths.
 Also that they must be very intelligent people to be
killing so many victims without even being noticed for
  a long time.
