audiences aged four years and over.
Any negative behaviour must be balanced
with positive. It must have a good moral
framework.

Generally anyone can watch these films but the
parents should decide whether it’s suitable for

Children aged eight and over should not be
disturbed by the content of PG films
4. Suitable for twelve
years and over
For a ‘12’ the child must be aged 12 or over to
see the film. However a ’12A’ allows a child
younger than 12 to view the film, if seen
suitable by the adult.
5. Suitable only for 15 years
or over
No one younger than 15 can view a ‘15’ film.
6. Suitable only for adults
Like wise with 15, no one younger than 18 can
view an ‘18’ rated film.

and sex shops can

‘R18’ is strictly shown/sold in licensed cinemas
or shops to adults.
They include strong, explicit scenes of sex.

We rated our film a ‘12A’ because some viewers
may find certain scenes disturbing.
We feel that people aged over 12 can watch
these scenes without being affected.
