6. “THWARTING PROTEIN PRODUCTION SLOWS
CANCER CELL´S MALIGNANT MARCH”
(July 18, 2013)
Protein synthesis and cell proliferation is
closely associated with the stress response.

9. Personal Observation
I think that the discovery of new
compounds that suppress the
translational and proliferative activity of
the cells has great importance for the
treatment of different cancers, or as a
therapeutic alternative to reduce the
maximum pathogenesis.
11. “PROTEINS KEY IN STEM CELL PRODUCTION
IDENTIFIED”
(July 5, 2013)
Pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
are transformed into many cell types
Useful in
therapeutics
12. “PROTEINS KEY IN STEM CELL PRODUCTION
IDENTIFIED”
(July 5, 2013)
Proteins play a critical role in
pluripotency
13. “PROTEINS KEY IN STEM CELL PRODUCTION
IDENTIFIED”
(July 5, 2013)
Proteins identified by the
splicing code
Act as a switch
Activate and deactivate the
pluripotency of stem cells
14. Personal Observation
I think that the development of
stem cells is of great
importance to medical and
scientific research, its use in
regenerative medicine,
immunotherapy, gene therapy,
pain relief treatments, cancer,
diabetes, cloning, set the
standard in scientific
development, but, for me, it
leaves much to be desired in
ethical issues.
16. The medical importance of
protein synthesis is
mainly based on the
large number of functions
that these play a biological
level, from hormones,
neurotransmitters,
antibodies, enzymes,
transporters, etc..
Medical Utility
17. Medical Utility
The development of new
methods for the treatment
of diseases that are
related to protein
synthesis and cell
proliferation will be the
solution to future
pathologies that were
considered incurable.
