This is the table that i drew up that shows the essential props that will be needed for certain images and also the the type of camera shots that are going to be use d for each image.;

1. Preparation of Photos for Cover, Contents Page and Double Page Spread: Type of ShotWhere the image is going to be usedProps, costumes, actors/actresses Lighting adjustmentsBackground/LocationPositioning of Image Editing of ImageLong ShotThe image is going to be used on the front cover of the magazine and is going to be the main focal point for the reader.For this particular shot, a classical music instrument such as a violin will be needed.A costume will not be necessary but the actor/actress must be dressed in bold coloured clothing. The facial expression of the actor/actress will be important. He/She must be able to express a bold but yet calm facial expression as well position themselves appropriately so it looks as if they are playing the classical music instrument. A camera flash will not be necessary but the image must be taken in a room where there is good lighting.If for whatever reason I’m not happy with the lighting, then I can edit the image in Adobe Photoshop.The Background for this particular image is not of great importance as the background is going to be removed In Adobe Photoshop as it will not be needed.The image is going to be positioned on the right hand side with the actress facing left. The image is going to be enlarged so that it covers most of the magazine cover. To remove the background, I am going to use the magic wand too to remove most of the background and then the eraser as well as the vanishing point tool to remove the remaining parts of the background. If the image appears to be too dark, then I will adjust the image light levels by going to Enhance, Adjust Lighting, Brightness/Contrast Close UpThe Image is going to be one of the three images that is going to be used on the contents pageFor this particular shot, no props will be needed. The actress will need to be dressed in casual clothing. For this image, there has to be good lighting. The actress will be sitting on a stair case expressing a casual look so for this particular image, a stair case will be needed. However, certain parts of the image may be removed. The image is going to be positioned on the right hand side of the contents page. If certain parts of the image need to be removed, then I’m going to edit in Photoshop by using the magic wand tool. If too dark, the light levels will be adjusted. Close UpThis image is going to be one of the three images that is going to be used on the contents pageFor this image, a guitar is going to be needed. Despite it being a classical music magazine, when I researched classical music covers, there was an image of a man playing a guitar on one of the covers. For this reason, I too am going to take a similar image.Like with the other images, there has to be good lighting. I think that for all of my images, there has to be good lighting. The background for this image is not of great importance. I would however prefer to have a white background for this image as if I want to later edit it, it would be easier to edit in Photoshop. The image is going to be positioned on the rig ht hand side of the contents page. By having a white background, I can use the eraser and magic wand tool to easily remove the parts of the image that I don’t want without leaving jagged edges. I may adjust the lighting of the image Long Shot This image is going to be used on my cover but the size of the image is going to be decreased. My research shows that on the ‘Classic Fm’ covers, they had a few tiny images positioned on the page advertising e.g. Album Reviews of the week. I too am going to use the image to advertise a similar issue on my cover. I need the actress to be playing a classical musical instrument such as a piano but I need the actress to be facing towards the camera. As with all of my images, the lighting of the actual image has to be light and must be suitable enough so that the reader is able to view the image i.e. the image cannot be too dark. The background for this particular image is not of great importance as it may not be removed in Photoshop. I have not yet decided on the actual positioning of the image. As with all of my images, if i feel that the background is not needed, then i will use tools such as the eraser and magic wand to remove the parts that i don’t need.
