Informative. Blog posts should contain accurate information and
helpful recommendations drawn from facts collected during IBC 2012.
References or contact information should be included in order to be
more credible and to provide a follow-through to readers.
Viral. Blog posts should have viral potentials in order to succeed in
the competitive cyberspace. Bloggers are highly encouraged to come
up with write-ups, photos and videos that are easy and fun to share.
Experiential. Blog posts should be experiential rather than just a
mere “report” of what occurred during the event. Creative write-ups,

The experience was fun and extraordinary.
Intramuros was made fun with his lively and

It needs more online promotions
Fantastic spot!
More promotions for Intramuros
It's so unique
There is so much to do and see here
I hope other parts would push through with regards to
restoration. Intramuros has an odd feel and is a
special/significant part of the metro and it should be
preserved to save heritage and history.
Everyone should see this
More improvement of facilities, squatters problem and etc.
I highly recommend Intramruos to all. (Pinoy or not)

Thanks Mark!
Good job Mark!
Thanks for making me a part of this event. I enjoyed
a lot. Hope to be a part of your future events. Good
job!
I'd like to thank all of the organizers. IBC 2012 is
something worth remembering and writing about
online.
Good job!
I learned a lot from the experience! Thanks and
keep it up!
Keep it up! If you need help...me!
Keep up the great job! Everything is well-organized
and this project is for a good cause for Filipinos and
to get to know Intramuros.
I wish there would be more challenges like other
contests. Touring can be more fun if you will let the
bloggers find the spot or place using the map.
This is a nice idea. Keep up the good work.
82. 4.5.1 INVITATION FROM INTRAMUROS ADMINISTRATION
© Mark Joseph Delgado for Ateneo-DigitalFilipino Blog & Social Media Entrepreneur Program
Last December 2011, I was invited by the Administrator himself, Mr. Jose Capistrano
Jr., of Intramuros Administration to their Christmas Party in Clamshell, Intramuros.
Afterwards, he gave me a book called “150: The Ateneo Way” which is filled with
old photos of Intramuros.

episode about Intramuros at Opinion Leaders hosted by William Thio. With us is
Architect Augusto Rustia of Intramuros Administration (far left) and Gary Alan,
producer of Opinion Leaders (second from left).

Part of the mandatory element placed at the bottom of the food blogs is my contact
information to measure the effectiveness of the campaign. So far, I already have
received 3 calls to inquire about Barbara’s.

87. 5.1 TIMELINE
© Mark Joseph Delgado for Ateneo-DigitalFilipino Blog & Social Media Entrepreneur Program
• Follow the timeline strictly but be flexible (for the sponsors and bloggers) if you
need to.
• Many bloggers commented that it could have been better if the project was
announced at an earlier time so that more bloggers will be able to join. But since I
am working only at a very tight timeline, the announcement was only rolled-out 3-4
days before the actual event. Fortunately though I still was able to gather the
required number of bloggers for each challenge.
88. 5.2 SPONSORSHIPS
© Mark Joseph Delgado for Ateneo-DigitalFilipino Blog & Social Media Entrepreneur Program
• The most effective way to get sponsors is to send them proposal letters outlining
the benefits that they may receive from supporting the project and what exactly you
need from them.
• Find a way to get them really involved in the project rather than just becoming a
mere supporter by giving them the opportunity to pick the winners or by
encouraging them to make suggestions on how you, as a blogger, may help them.
• It is much easier for sponsors to support the project through in-kind goods rather
then cash.
• There are so many willing sponsors out there who need help in strengthening their
online presence. You just have to diligently search for them.
89. 5.3 BLOGGERS
© Mark Joseph Delgado for Ateneo-DigitalFilipino Blog & Social Media Entrepreneur Program
• There are so many bloggers out there who would like to tackle about heritage and culture
in their blogs. They are the best bloggers to tap when you want to feature Intramuros and
other heritage sites.
• Although most of them would say that they are willing to shell out money to join initiatives
such as IBC 2012, they aren’t necessarily willing to give out donations. Maybe because most
of the bloggers are used to being invited to events for free. The challenge is to let them
understand that IBC 2012 is entirely different from events organized by big corporation and
agencies.
• Try as best as you could to make the event free to join for bloggers to increase the number
of participants. Most of the time, bloggers don’t really like to pay to go to events.
• Encourage the bloggers to submit their posts as soon as possible. It is highly recommended
to have them in a contest to put extra effort in making good posts and to submit on time.
Agree on the deadline with them. Give bonus points to those who can make it on time and
deductions for those who will be late. Another strategy is to create a contest which may only
be announced after all the posts are uploaded (i.e. IBC 2012 Photo Challenges).
90. 5.3 BLOGGERS (cont’d)
© Mark Joseph Delgado for Ateneo-DigitalFilipino Blog & Social Media Entrepreneur Program
• Some of the bloggers can’t be punctual during call times. Give incentives for those who can
be punctual and announce it ahead of time so that everyone will know. You can use your
freebies as incentives. Let them earn and don’t just give them away. For example, you will
only give GCs to those who can make it on time.
• Bloggers are rich sources of insights. If there’s a chance, let them meet your sponsors or the
people behind the establishments you will be visiting. Let them ask questions and share their
opinions. Hand them out survey forms. When you do, give them ample amount of time to fill
them out.
