1. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT FROM
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS
OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT
2. INTRODUCTION
Over the course of this year I have used various means of technology in order
to make my workflow as efficient as possible. Without this technology we would
have not been able to coherently create our project to the best of our abilities.
3. WORKFLOW
One tool I used to organise my notes was Dropbox. This is a free online cloud
storage system that allows you to upload and download your notes on any
computer or device. This meant that when I was writing notes at school, I could
upload my notes onto this service which would then be automatically
downloaded onto my computer at home. This helped me stay organised.
Furthermore through the use of the service Authy I could enable two step
verification on my account to prevent it from being hacked. I also used Authy on
my Wordpress blog in order to keep it secure.

computer thanks to Dropbox
5. RESEARCH
When collating audience feedback I created a survey on
www.surveymonkey.com which I then posted to the forum
www.reddit.com/r/samplesize allowing me to gain anonymous feedback from
real people on my questions. I could then see these answers in easy to digest
graphs provided by the website.
6. COMMUNICATION
As a group we needed to ensure we had a singular vision on what we wanted
to create meaning we had to stay in contact regularly. In order to do this we
used the instant messaging platform Whatsapp to stay in touch. If anyone ever
had a question or needed to organise a date for filming we could instantly
communicate with each via this app.
7. PRODUCTION
For the actual production of our film we used several software packages. The first being Adobe Premiere Pro. This was
where we did the bulk of our editing for our film. One editing tool frequently used in Premiere Pro by our group was the
warp stabiliser effect. This meant then if were using handheld footage we could stabilise it slightly in order to give it a
more professional feel. Another high end editing tool that was used was the use of a green screen. This allowed us to
place the younger version of Angus onto the mirror. Smaller features of this editing package could also be used to
create transitions on both the audio and the video clips. Furthermore the Razor tool was used to split up individual clips
in order to make their manipulation at certain points easier to manage.
8. PRODUCTION PT2
Another software package used for out film was Adobe Photoshop. Using this
program we were able to create the text for the camcorder at the start of the
sequence having installed a custom font from www.dafont.com. Exporting this as
a PNG allowed us to retain its original quality as well as the transparent
background. We also used Adobe After Effects to create the titling to the film.
This allowed us to create key frames to manipulate the fade in and fade out
points of the text itself.
9. DISTRIBUTION
Once our film had been exported we would upload the footage to YouTube as
an unlisted video to send the link to our teacher for feedback. As the worlds
largest video sharing platform YouTube allows you to upload large amounts of
footage that play back at fast speeds. When posting presentations onto our
blog we used the website Slideshare which meant we could embed these onto
the page. To create a more interactive post I also used Prezi and Adobe Voice
to create a more interesting post for the audience to view.
