Species
Iceland supports a variety of game available for wingshooting. Iceland features world-class
opportunities for Pink Footed Geese and Ptarmigan. Opportunities for Mallards, Widgeon, and
assorted Sea Ducks, round out the mix.
General Information
On each trip to Iceland, we are always struck by how often other adventurers are repeat
visitors. Many hunters come year after year, wanting to harvest Iceland’s seemingly endless
supply of geese and ptarmigan. Returning hunters immediately recognize the crisp, invigorating
polar air and are greeted by the sights and sounds found only in this region.

3. Hunting & General Information
Your Stay
Hunting and a wide variety of additional activities can fill each day. The remote locations are
perfect for sightseeing, horseback riding, hiking, and exploring the surrounding area. Hike to
one of the numerous waterfalls, conquer a mountain trail, or climb to a hanging glacier. Our
productive goose hunting fields are never far from your overnight locations. If some of your
travel companions just want to relax there’s no shortage of options.
Note: Hunting September is best for Geese & later in the season favors Ptarmigan. The bag
limits are very liberal and allow each hunter to bag as many as 25/species/day in some areas.
Accommodations are comfortable, private, and exceed most hunting locales. Breathtaking
landscapes dominate many views. Delicious meals are served in the authentic Icelandic style.
Fishing This Area
This is an additional option and can be provided per request. Species present at this time: trout.
Equipment
All gear can be supplied for your convenience. You will only need to bring appropriate outdoor
clothing for hunting waterfowl and ptarmigan in the uplands if you desire. Dress and pack for
the weather seen in Minneapolis, Chicago in late October.

Your guide is well equipped. Internet is most often available.

Rates for your proposal are preliminary
Cost is $789 per hunter per day. Assumes goose and/or ptarmigan.
Non-hunter companion rates are available.
Reindeer may also be hunted during your stay. Will craft this into a subsequent proposal if you
are interested?
Does Not Include:
Travel to and from Reykjavik, travel insurance, game licenses, guns and ammo, staff gratuities,
applicable taxes, and personal purchases.
Deposits and Reservations
A 50% deposit of the total package cost for the trip is due to Active Outdoors within 10 days
of booking to lock the reservation in. Dates cannot be held or reserved without a deposit.
Active Outdoors reserves the right to charge a handling fee of $100 per person for date
changes after the initial reservation has been made.
Full payment is due 90 days prior to departure.

5. Travel Specifics
Getting to Iceland
Direct flights to Reykjavik are possible from Minneapolis flying Icelandair as an example. Rates
are reasonable and can be found for less than $700.00 round-trip. $750 per traveler is a good rate
from the United States.
Getting to your Hunting Location
Limousine service will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the location of your first
overnight stay.
Required Documents
Passport for airlines, a Driver’s License, and copies of a U.S. Hunting License are required.
Asgeir will work with you to prepare and process the requisite information to allow you to hunt
in Iceland. The process is unique and thorough, but uncomplicated. We will make it painless.
