2. Analyze Learners
The unit is for an 8th grade Health class and is geared
toward the average learner. The students range in age
from 13 to 15 years. 7 students in the class have mild
ADHD. The class consists of 10 boys, 7 girls, 70% white,
20% African-American and 10% Latino. Generally, the
students are well-behaved when the lesson integrates
project-based learning activities that focus on topics of
interest.
3. State Objectives
Each student will display the benefits and risks of foods
within each food group with 90% accuracy by matching
flash cards.
5. Utilize Media and Materials
QR codes will be used to navigate each group to a voki
and a podcast
Voki will help steer their research in the right direction by
giving hints and tips on some foods.
Podcast will give hints and tip on foods for research.
6. Require Learner Participation
All students must participate in the group work of using
the qr codes, voki, and podcast as well as the research.
7. Evaluate and Revise
Students will be evaluated during the group activities. If
all students in each group aren’t participating, I may
have to make some changes and assign each student
work within each group.
