Poverty is when you have almost nothing some people
don’t even have clothes, food and houses, and your mad
because you can’t get lulu lemon pant but your friend
can. If you want chicken but your family wants
hamburgers and you start to cry because you wanted
chicken just stop and think about the family’s living in
poverty that some days only get one meal. Just think
about this the next time you are buying clothes or don’t
get what you want just think of the kids living in poverty.

• Over 3 billion people live in poverty
• Almost half the world lives on less than $2.50
a day
• 1 person dies every 3 and a half seconds
because they have no food or clean water

• 10.6 Million kids died in 2003 before they
reached the age of 5
• 640 million kids live without shelter
• 270 million kids have no access to health care

• Saskatchewan, BC and Alberta have no
poverty reduction plan
• Saskatchewan has the third highest rate of
children living in poverty in Canada
• BC has the highest rate of poverty in Canada

6. How can you help
Chalice is a that work in Bolivia, Chile, Haiti and
Ukraine is just some of the places. They helping
family’s living in poverty, by giving the family a
cow, the mother a stove and give kids a school.

7. To help
What you can do to help stop poverty is donate to your local food
bank, help with the shoe boxes at Christmas time and donate Charity
or charity’s.
