Relations Award
MIAMI (December 30, 2013) – Tony Argiz, Chairman and CEO of nationally recognized public
accounting firm Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLC (MBAF), recently received the American
Jewish Committee’s (AJC) National Human Relations Award. Former Senator Mel Martinez,
AJC Miami and Broward President Andrew C. Hall and AJC Miami and Broward Director Brian
Siegal, presented Argiz with the award on December 12.
AJC has presented the National Human Relations Award annually for more than 30 years to a
leading member of the business or civic community who has made significant contributions to
the betterment of life through their dedication to the welfare of the community and their
generous spirit.
Argiz received the award at a gala reception at Jungle Island surrounded by more than 500
family members, colleagues, business and community leaders and friends. The emcee for the
evening was CNN political commentator Ana Navarro, and the invocation was given by the Most
Rev. Thomas Wenski, Archbishop of Miami. Former Senator Mel Martinez served as the
keynote speaker.
Well-known for his community and industry leadership, Argiz has received numerous awards,

In his acceptance speech, Tony spoke about the importance of strengthening ties between
Miami’s Jewish and Cuban American communities and the commitment to making this a better
world for all of us. “Through his example and deeds, Tony Argiz has been a transformative
leader in South Florida for many years and has been a force for building bridges and making
Miami a better place for everyone. His friendship and support of Israel and the Jewish
community are profound, and we are honored to pay tribute to him,” said Brian Siegal, Director
AJC’s Miami and Broward Regional Office.
Argiz has led civic organizations as Past Chair of the United Way of Miami-Dade, Past Chair
and President of the Orange Bowl Committee, Chair-Elect of the Greater Miami Chamber of
Commerce and board member of the Beacon Council. Argiz has served as Past Chair of
religious and educational institutions including the Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, the
Archbishop’s Charity and Development Drive, the FIU Council of 100, and the Miami Dade
College Foundation.
