31. Next Webinar – October 15th
Creating a Business Presence on Pinterest
• Difference between Business/Personal Page
• How to set up/optimize a Business Page
• Ways to Engage your Audience
Welcome – so excited to have so many join us today for this webinar….my hope is that you walk away today with a better understanding of how to use FB for business and if you are already using FB for your business – you will gather a few tips on how to improve the look/quality of your page and using your page to attract new fans. Let me tell you a little about me – and how I got involved with SM…
I have been asm consultant now for about 2 years and I work mainly with small to med sized businesses – most of whom are trying to get started with SM. I decided to create this webinar series as a way to educate people on getting started and on how to use the top sites….we started with website dos/donts ; then how to create an online strategy and now – Facebook…in the upcoming months we will cover Linked In, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.
So Why FB? FB IS NOT GOING AWAY!! IT IS STILL THE LARGEST, MOST USED SOCIAL SITE
Some interesting facts about Facebook ….
So you say – My Kids are on Facebook….arghhhhh!! I don’t want people knowing my personal business!! I don’t care what my neighbor had for breakfast!GOOD!! That makes all the more sense then to create a FB for your Business rather than trying to use your personal page!
I’m going to be jumping back and forth between the slide show and an actual FB page so you can actually see how to set up a page….Along with this list – we’ll talk about how you can set notifications, set your privacy, how to post, comment, like as your page vs yourself….all designed to keep your personal page separate from your business page!
Jump to the internet and show the difference in Personal/Business page
We are going to jump over to the internet and I am going to walk thru the steps to create a business page.
There are almost as many goals for Social media as there are types of business – but you must have an idea of what you want to achieve before you begin randomly using the social sites.
Show examples of great cover photos by brands; individuals; this is your chance to shine; to grab someone’s attention
Show examples of how custom apps work – fan-gate, contests, etc.
Give examples of posting text; images; shares from other pages
Depends on if you are local biz; national biz, international biz; you need to experiment – based on your fan base, your industry; your reach
80/20 – 80% valuable info; 20 promotions 70/10/10 70 valuable info; 10 shares; 10 promotions; talk about community involvement; employee outings; team building events; individual awards of your employees or your business
Another frustration I hear all the time is I don’t know what to post? Contests, Freebies, Newletter sign ups, weekly/monthly live chats
You’ve got your goal; you’ve selected the social site you feel will bring you the best chance of connecting with your target audience - now what? Social media comes down to TIME MANAGEMENT
FB’s internal monitoring system – tracks progress of your page
Once you have created a plan, set up an editorial calendar to help with the time management you need to track your results – seems pretty simple – but so many businesses never look at their stats/analytics….
I will be emailing the details out this coming week.
Comments/Feedback always welcome – email me any questions that may not have been answered; also anything you want me to include in the upcoming webinars
