Team Communication Remember to keep your team updated. It is very important that you tell your team the information that we tell you. Forward emails, send out reminders, find time to get together. Try to get together briefly at least once or twice to discuss things as a team. Set goals.  Be there for them!
Adopt-A-Survivor Goal: Every team have at least one survivor! Who is a survivor? Anyone who currently has or previously had cancer Does not necessarily have to have beaten cancer Survivors do not need to be present at Relay, but can be “adopted” by a team If you know any survivors, invite them to the event!  Get their information so they can be on mailing list for free game tickets, etc.
Relay by the numbers Awesome Relay 2010!!  Raised just over $69,000 Heart of Relay Award #1 PER CAPITA IN OUR DIVISION!!!
Goals forThis Year 90 teams 45 survivors-adopt a survivor Raise over $75,000 #1 in the state of Nebraska #1 per capita in our division again!
Fundraising Remember NEW to this year… Each participant must raise $100 to get a t-shirt!
Fundraising Ideas Start a penny war Shovel driveways for a donation Garage sale Grab a water bottle and ask for change… a bottle full of dimes is $96!! On the website – “Team Captain Toolkit” then “ABC’s of Fundraising, Fundraising Tips Booklet…” Write letters to family and friends!		-Online Template (demonstration) Ask 10 friends or family to buy 10 luminaria in honor or memory of their loved ones
Sell ‘stars’ for a dollar to hang on doors of dorms. Turn in cans for money in Council Bluffs…Start collecting those cans! Have a team bake sale 50 Days of Relay Do what you can and encourage your team! Go to local restaurants and ask to place a bucket there.  The worst thing they’ll say is no. Get creative. It is up to you to take the initiative!

Things to give to your teammates: Team member handbook Money envelope Cash Donation Acknowledgement form You are their go-to person for questions. If there is something you don’t know, then ask us!
