EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM
The Exceptional Family Member Program is comprised of three elements: Identification and Enrollment;
Assignment Coordination; and Family Support. EFMP ensures optimum use of funding by considering the
Navy's requirements, your career, and the special needs of your family members. Special emphasis should
be placed on your obligation to maintain worldwide assignability and to meet the needs of the Navy. EFMP
enrollment is mandatory and required immediately upon identification of a special need. The Navy has 32
EFMP case liaisons located at Fleet and Family Support Centers throughout the fleet. Case Liaisons provide
information and referral services, assistance with enrollment, and individualized service plans and case
management. All commands have an EFMP point of contact to provide information and guidance to you and
your leaders.
Additional Navy EFMP information can be found at Navy Exceptional Family Member Program.
FIRST TERM SUCCESS WORKSHOP AVAILABLE ON NKO
Effective immediately the newly revised First Term Success Workshop, CPPD-FTSW-1.0, is available for
download and use on NKO. This will be the minimum baseline requirement FLEET-WIDE and the only FTSW
curriculum to be taught; commands can still add additional information based on local resources or
requirements. FTSW is a command delivered training product to be administered by the CCC with the
assistance of the Career Development Team. There are three files; a lesson plan, a presentation, and a
trainee guide. There is a feedback link for NC/CCC training on the same page to provide feedback on training
products or suggestions for future training products to CPPD. Commands are required to document FTSW
completions in FLTMPS or in Career Information Management System (CIMS).
