2. AUTHORS PAGE
 My name is Meghan Church I am
currently a senior at UNCC. I am
really excited about graduating and
becoming a teacher. I can not wait to
have my own classroom and to be
able to inspire kids to reach their
goals.

3. Purpose: I wanted to do this project
for my boyfriend because he has
been my best friend for 6 years now
and I want him to know just how
much he means to me.

4. Genre: Narrative
H OW W E M E T. . .
 I remember the day I first set eyes on you, it wasn’t the normal I fell in
love right away but the opposite, I wanted to punch you in the face. I
remember we were in middle school and I had just got done with
basketball practice and was tired, hot, and sweaty and just ready to go
home. I packed up all my things into my book bag and started walking out
of the gym. As I was walking out, I knew there were some people shooting
basketball but I didn’t really pay any attention to them. As soon as I was
behind the basketball goal on the outside of the basketball court out of
nowhere I felt a huge blow to my face.

5. H OW W E M E T. . .
That is when I turned to face who had just hit me in the face with the
basketball, and it was you. You were apologizing and laughing all at
the same time, but all I could think about was how bad I wanted to
hurt you because I was in so much pain and you were laughing. I don’t
know why you were shooting from half court but apparently you still
needed a little bit more practice on hitting that shot.

6. H OW W E M E T. . .
I remember how I never saw your face again until two years later when we were in
high school. I’m pretty sure that you were sitting in the gym again when I realized
who you were. I remember being like “HEY YOU’RE THE GUY THAT HIT
ME IN THE FACE WITH A BASKETBALL” and you started laughing again
because you knew exactly what I was talking about. This time I felt a little humor
and laughed a long with you. Since that day we have become best friends and have
stayed in contact with each other for 6 years now. We have seen each other
through everything. We have been there for each other through break ups, tears,
and just to enjoy each other’s company. You really are the best thing that has ever
happened to me and the best friend I could have ever asked for.

7. HOW WE MET…
I remember in high school my senior year you wanted to date me. I was
kind of scared of what people would say and think about me which is why
I turned you down. Part of me is kind of glad I did this because it allowed
us to become so much closer as friends and to get to know each other in
that way. It also gave us both time to have serious relationships with other
people and realize what we really wanted. It allowed us to grow up and
become responsible adults before entering a relationship that could last
forever. I love you so much and I am glad that we found each other. I
never would have thought by being hit in the face with a basketball would
change my whole life but it did. I’m glad that we can also find humor in
how we met now that I am finally over it ha ha ha. You really are
something special and I hope I never lose you. Love you always and
forever.

W H AT YO U M E A N T O M E
Dear James,
You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You really are
amazing. I’m not sure why I have waited 6 years to finally give you a chance, but
I am glad that we are official now. You are all I have ever wanted and more. I
know you have told me countless times that you were going to marry me one
day and I just blew you off and thought you had no idea what you were talking
about but now I am not sure why I didn’t believe you. I love how I am able to be
myself around you and how goofy we can act with each other. When I am
around you, you make me feel like a little kid who is happy and carefree. You will
never know just how much you mean to me and how much I love you!

It just sweeps me off my feet.
You are my very best friend,
And I really don’t want it to end.

13. Genre: Persuasive
B E C AU S E O F YO U
Since you have come into my life you have helped me in so many ways. I’m
not sure if you realize, but you have been my life saver. See, after having no
health problems at all and then all of a sudden having to get a pacemaker
really changed my life. I guess since the doctors could not come up with any
kind of conclusion with what happened to my heart it just kind of scared
me. After, getting the pacemaker put in I was scared of everything. I was
scared to be alone by myself. I was scared to live in charlotte anymore. All I
know is, after four years of living on my own; I wanted to be at home living
with my mom and dad again.

14. BECAUSE OF YOU
I didn’t even want them to leave my side. For about 3 months after
the surgery I didn’t really do very much other than go straight to
school and straight home because I was scared to do anything else.
Even when my friends would ask me to hang out I would always
come up with some excuse of why I couldn’t go with them. Or even
when you would ask me to go eat or hang out with you I would
always be like no I’m too tired, or I have too much homework to do.
But, in reality it was just I was afraid, of what I have no idea. I
remember the first time we finally hung out and decided to go eat in
Winston I was so nervous, not nervous of being with you but
nervous because that was the first time I had been away from my
parents and that they would be about 30 minutes away from me.

15. BECAUSE OF YOU
I guess in my mind I was thinking like a little kid and that my parents would
be able to save me and protect if anything was to ever happen. Although,
my parents would react like anyone else if something were to happen and
take me to the hospital. Not long after going out to eat with you, we started
hanging out a lot more and going different places with each other. That’s
when we started dating. You helped me overcome some of my biggest fears,
although you might not even realize it but you did. I’m not exactly sure how
you did it but you did. You helped me not to be afraid of things and to live
my life. You also helped me realize that if anything was to ever happen that
you would take care of me and that I didn’t need to always confide in my
parents for that. Since we have been together we have taken two beach
trips together by ourselves (which I thought I would never be able to do
without my parents being by my side) and we have practically lived
together. You have allowed to me to be able to continue to live my life
normally. You really are my best friend and the best boyfriend I have ever
had! Love you always and forever.

17. I DI DN’T THI NK I COULD
Ever love someone as much as I do you.
I didn’t think I could ever give anyone else a chance.
I didn’t think I could spend so much time with someone.
I didn’t think I could talk to someone as much as I talk to you.
I didn’t think I could let my walls down in order for someone to get to know me.
I didn’t think I could ever feel as happy as I am when I am with you.
I didn’t think I could miss anyone’s presence as much as I miss yours.
I didn’t think I could look into someone’s eyes and feel so much love.
I didn’t think I could ever care for someone as much as I care about you.
I didn’t think I could but I guess I was wrong.
