Why is Edmodo a great tool to use in the classroom?
What is Edmodo?
More than 7 million teachers and students are now using Edmodo worldwide
The platform for Edmodo is safe and secure.
Select the “Create” link in the “Groups” section on the left panel of your Edmodo homepage.Enter a group name and select the correct grade and subject area in the pop-up box that appears.Click the “Create” button and Edmodo will display a 6-digit group code. This is the group code that you will need to give your students so they can join your group. Groups are listed on the left panel of teacher and student accounts.
Click on the “Profile” button on your Edmodo toolbar. Your profile portfolio will then be displayed.
You can create or upload previously created assignments. You can grade assignments in Edmodo as well. You can even create student badges to give students feedback on their assignments.
Teachers can create polls for their students. Click on the class you want to take the poll, then click on poll, then you will create your poll questions and type them in the box. When you click on the question box, answer boxes will appear. You can create as many answer boxes as you want. Poll questions have to be created one at a time. You can choose to send/post the poll question immediately or schedule it to post later.
You can use Edmodo to upload content for student access to your personal library. You can even link your Google Docs to your Edmodo library.
