MRC ECOCOATING
MRC roofing systems provide you with the highest quality materials. Our many years of
experience in sheet metal processing allows us to state that we are a specialist in this
field.
Steel and aluminum roof sheets are protected on both sides of the paint coating that
consists of several layers with various properties. This can be seen in the diagram.
1. STEEL CORE - this is the frame of the sheets, and its thickness, the iron content in the ore and
other additives together with rolling make up its durability and flexibility characteristics
2. & 6. ZINC LAYER - galvanizing protects the steel sheets against the effects of moisture, in
other words rust. The amount of zinc on our sheets is at least 275 g/m2 on both sides.
3. & 7. PASSIVATION LAYER - is responsible for cleaning the zinc coating or
aluminum-manganese-magnesium alloy in order to effectively apply the next layer.
4. PAINT PRIMER - the primer layer improves resistance to red rust or white rust (for aluminum)
and improves the adhesion of the surface layer.
5. SURFACE LAYER - the final organic lacquer, which specific characteristics reflect the aesthetics
and quality of the product. Final lacquers have different properties, depending on the product
class.
8. PROTECTIVE EPOXY LACQUER - this is the standard epoxy finish on the underside of the roof
sheet. SSAB Prelaq and Ruukki sheets differ in the overprint placed under the epoxy lacquer coat,
which cannot be removed, for example, with acetone.
