2. The Arizona law allows law enforcement to question anyone on their immigration status. Law enforcement does not necessarily permit only immigration officers to question on immigration status, any law enforcement officer such as a sheriff or police officer. The goal of the Arizona law is to stop immigration through Arizona’s border. Civil Rights leaders argue this law is discriminatory.
3. There are other states like Georgia and Oklahoma that want to install a similar law. The Arizona law has caused racial tensions between law enforcement and the Hispanic community. The Arizona law is unconstitutional (Amendment 4-The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.)
