5. MAIN IMAGE – No glitz or
glam applied to clothing or
background. This image of
the film will be seen as the
main selling point, here it is
all about the low-budget
British drama which is
being portrayed through
the setting and the photo of
this young woman.
MASTHEAD – The name of
the magazine is key in selling
this product. Placed in the top
left because when positioned
on the shelves the left third of
the magazine will be showing,
buyers will be able to identify
with the well-known yellow
background and black writing
masthead.
TAGLINE – Again placed
on the left third of the
magazine, this film is the
main selling point and
those interested will pick it
up off the shelves. The
font is urban, like graffiti,
to show the buyers what
this film is about.
ANCHORAGE TEXT –
Enlightens the buyer to
what is inside the
magazine other than the
focus film. Here it tells us
that interviews with
famous names within the
film industry are inside
and this sells the
magazine if the main
image doesn’t.
PRICE AND DATE –
Positioned here because it
is not a main selling point
of the magazine and is
something that the buyer
will only look for once
they’ve been lured in by the
other content on the front
cover.
COLOURS – Bright
blue sky – uplifting –
perhaps a sign of the
mood of the film. The
array of colours used
with the title of the film
attracts buyers. Bright
red circle enlightens
the buyers to what
separates this film
magazine to others.
