1. TAKEN
In this clip, there are a lot of close up views of the faces,
to show the actors expressions. There are a lot of
different emotions in this scene; one of the main ones
was panic. We picked up on how the emotions changed
from the beginning to when she saw the secretive men.
By zooming into their faces you can see in depth how
they are feeling and how they react to the situation.
The camera shots were changing quickly when the actor
was setting up the earpiece, this showed that he was
acting rapidly about the
situation. By having fast
camera movements it
affects the audience by
creating tension and
suspense. As they
change different shots
very quickly it shows
how the father is panicking to help his daughter and
makes the audience not be able to stay in their seat as
they feel the pressure.
When the camera shows the men walking down the
corridor from the waist downwards this also creates
nervousness, as the audiences have no idea what they look
like or who they are. It also portrays the men to be
unknown and mysterious.
When the woman got dragged out underneath the bed the
camera suddenly turned straight on so we could see the
detail of sudden change of relief to terror in her face. This
made the audience feel shocked as it was not expected.
2. The final shot is a wide straight portrait of her
dads face listening to her getting taken, this
shows the terror in his face in great detail as it is
the only thing in focus. This makes the audience
try to imagine ho h is feeling and would give them
a slightly sick feeling as they imagine what would
be happening to her.
