multiplying by percentage

1. 1. You will be working in pairs with an opposing team (I will give you
your partner).
2. Each pair will turn over a card and decide how much money the
card is worth: e.g. ½ of $10 is $5.
3. Write your working into your maths notebook.
4. The ‘winner’ of the round is the pair with the most amount of
money and they keep both cards.
5. Keep playing until all the cards are gone.
6. As the game gets easier you will work with just your
partner and progress onto harder cards.

2. What I am Looking for
• Cooperative team work when playing the
games.
• The best two pairs (in terms of working
together) will move up the class ladder
for house points.
• I will collect your books so I can see
your working out.

3. Write a real life word problem using what
you have learned today
• Can you solve it yourself once you have written it?
