6. EDUCATION-Family Reading Program
Please provide an overview of the project/program.
This program will allow us to promote the act and enjoyment of reading in ESL students. In order to
accomplish this task we will need additional resources that will help all elementary aged ESL students
learn to read.
Please describe how the project/program fosters a love of reading in children.
We have ESL students ranging from ages five to eleven who come into our school unable to speak and
read fluently. This program will help to purchase the instructional materials that we need to help
educate these students effectively, as well as provide for them specific books that they can read as they
progress in their learning of the English language.

What are the anticipated outcomes of the project/program?
ESL students will have an adequate number of books and various instructional resources that will give
them an equal opportunity to read information.
What key metrics do you plan on collecting to determine if the outcomes have been achieved?
We will be able to see progress through weekly progress monitoring assessments, OAS tests, and the
CRCT annual assessment.
