• Blocking: planned movement, especially
movement that is connected to the characters’
motivations and emotions
Ex: entering the room angrily, leaning toward
another character lovingly
• Stage Business: movement that is related to
characters’ general activity
Ex: sweeping the floor, making drinks, packing a
suitcase
